The book is devoted to the investigation of properties of mesoscopic heterostructures, both optical and transport. In particular, the authors consider some gyrotropy effects occurring in heterogeneous materials such as gyrotropic photonic crystals, exciton-like electromagnetic excitations in disordered photonic supercrystals composed by microcavities as coupled resonators, they carry out modeling of the critical characteristics for SNIS Josephson devices as well. This research is performed within the European program FP7-PEOPLE-2013-IRSES (Grant # 612600 ¿LIMACONA¿).

About the author

The authors are employees of the A.A. Galkin Donetsk Institute for Physics and Engineering of National Academy of Sciences. Their area of interests includes issues related to Physics of Light-Matter Coupling in Nanostructures and Transport Properties of Mesoscopic Heterostructures.
