Several studies have been made to show whether there are links between video games and addiction or between video games and aggression. According to a 2001 study, exposure to violent video games is related to at least a temporary increase in aggression and a decrease in prosocial behavior caring about the welfare and rights of others. Another 2009 study which concentrated on serious aggressive behavior concluded that video game violence is not linked to serious aggressive behavior in real life.
