This manuscript is based on the doctoral dissertation which Giacomo Bertini wrote as a PhD student within the Marie Curie project ATWARM (Advanced Technologies for Water Resource Management). The definition of the sorption memory of microbial biofilms is introduced and the use of biofilms and other materials is proposed in order to trace PAH pollutants in sewers. This book represents also a review of the most relevant studies on this subject.

About the author










Dr. Giacomo Bertini was born in Prato (Italy), on April 17th 1983. In July 2010 he achieved his Master of Science in Microbial Biotechnology at the University of Florence (Italy).In November 2014 he achieved the doctor title at the Biofilm Centre, University of Duisburg-Essen (Germany).
