This book introduces the basics of the French language to non-native adult learners. The basic aim of the book is to be sensitive to the specific challenges that the French language poses to non natives and respond to the challenges which might not be addressed by conventional text books on French for beginners. The learner is initially introduced to the basic characteristics of the French Language. Starting from the alphabet the book concentrates on simple everyday conversations which give the reader the first impression of the language. Care is taken to stress on the proper usage of grammar which constitutes the foundation of further learning.

About the author










Dr. Rounak Mahtab has done her PhD in French Literature from Baranas Hindu University. She had been teaching French to adult learners in India for the last five years. Presently she is a faculty in the Foreign Language Programme of EDC, Cotton College, Assam, India.
