Bacillariophyceae from Karstic Wetlands in Mexico - dedicated to Dr. Arturo Gomez-Pompa

This publication describes the diatom flora of freshwater environments from karstic wetlands from El Eden Ecological Reserve, Mexico. Environmental parameters and latitude are found to influence the diatom flora significantly. Encountered species and their distribution are documented. Of the 156 taxa identified in this location, 29 have a tropical distribution, 76 are considered alkaliphilous. As a result of this study three new combinations and 9 new taxa are described.
