Acacia modesta wood have been collected from mountain of (Ramora) Dir lower Khyber Pakhtukhwa Pakistan and then converted into activated carbon. The sample was activated chemically. The sample was characterized by BET surface area, scanning electron microscopy, FTIR and energy dispersive spectroscopy techniques. Adsorption of some dyes (basic green 5 and Methylen blue) are studied on treated and raw sample of Acacia modesta carbon powder by kinetics and batch adsorption technique at different temperatures. Intraparticle diffusion, Elovich and Bhangam models were used for analysis adsorption kinetics studies. From adsorption kinetic data the thermodynamic parameters were calculated from the adsorption data. The result shows that the adsorption process is a spontaneous process.
