The number of people suffering from Burnout is increasing. Therefore companies are suffering because of work days lost due to illness or presenteeism which leads to inefficient work. The aim of this book is to deepen the understanding of the problematic situation of Burnout in Germany with a special focus on the job field of Information Technology and the federal state of Bavaria. Moreover this book should give a detailed insight in Burnout from the perspective of people working with clients who have Burnout and also from the perspective of IT employees working in Bavaria. The perspectives of those two expert groups are chosen to get a holistic perspective of the topic. First a narrative literature overview is provided including Burnout in general and Burnout in the workplace. In addition qualitative expert interviews (5) were conducted focusing on Burnout in general, Burnout in Bavaria and Burnout in the field of Information Technology. They were analyzed using qualitative content analysis after Mayring, 2003. (Mayring, 2003).
