About the author

JAMES EADE has written several books about chess, including the best-selling Chess for Dummies. As a player, he was awarded the title of Chess Master by the USCF in 1981 and by FIDE in 1993. He was a trustee of the U.S. Chess Trust from 2000 to 2019, as well as past President. In 2022, James was awarded the Marquis Who's Who Humanitarian Award. Revisions and new material by AL LAWRENCE, Director of the Texas Tech Chess Program and former Executive Director for the USCF and World Chess Hall of Fame. Al is an award-winning  author, journalist, and editor.
