The nuclear radiations have a number of applications in various fields of science and technology but at the same time these radiations have many hazardous effects to mankind. For this it is must that the radiations should properly be shielded. To explore the possibility of use of flyash (a waste material as a resourceful material) as gamma radiation shielding material it is necessary to study the basic interactions of gamma radiations in flyash materials. In the present book, the preparation and gamma radiation shielding properties of barium borate flyash glasses, zinc doped lead borate flyash glasses and high volume flyash concretes have been studied in details. The facts of the book will be significant for under graduate/post graduate students of physics/applied physics/material sciences and engineering. Particularly beneficial for the future studies of flyash glasses and high volume flyash concretes related to research as well as their applications in radiation shielding design.
