About the author

Brian Moss is Professor of Botany at the University of Liverpool. His researches in freshwater biology have been carried out in Europe, Africa and the USA. During 17 years at the University of East Anglia, he modernised understanding of the ecological problems of the Norfolk Broads. Currently he is concerned with the restoration of polluted lakes. Previous books include Ecology of Freshwaters, now in its 3rd edition.
