Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Baal teshuva or ba'al teshuvah (Hebrew: ; for a woman, , baalat teshuva; plural, , baalei teshuva), sometimes abbreviated to BT, is a term referring to a Jew who turns to embrace Orthodox Judaism. Baal teshuva literally means, "repentant", i.e., one who has repented or "returned" to God. It is often contrasted with "FFB" (Frum From Birth), which refers to Orthodox Jews who are born into families that are already religiously observant, and who have been practicing Judaism from birth or a young age.
