An increased number of Independent Power Producers can be attracted by better policies and improved practices which are rectified by decision-makers. This study on Options to Promote Investments in Renewable energy in Rwanda explores different options that seek to make electricity from renewable energy more cost effective for developers and more affordable for consumers. It addresses the barriers that hinder the involvement of private sector and determines which incentives are to be maintained, and which ones are to be improved. New options that could possibly promote increased investments have been designed and suggestions on how to implement the most feasible options have been developed.
