Description

Iris recognition is applicable to identity verification, access control, and surveillance systems. The performance of an iris recognition system is determined by the robustness of the recognition algorithms employed and the availability of good quality eye iris images to train and test the algorithms. Existing eye iris corpora contain iris images acquired mainly from Caucasian, Chinese and Indian subjects. The development of a corpus of iris images acquired from subjects with brown irises is important to iris biometric research because of the peculiarities of brown irises.
