Metamaterials with their unusual properties, offer possibilities to manipulate electromagnetic waves in an extraordinary way. Since the pioneering work of Professor Victor Georgievich Veselago in 1968 on the general properties of wave propagation in a negative refractive index medium, a large number of researchers have contributed to the development and the growth of this new generation of materials. In this manuscript, we propose to investigate metamaterials at microwave and terahertz frequency ranges with the aim to provide improved functionalities and performances for millimeter and sub-millimeter applications.

About the author

Dr. Riad Yahiaoui received an electronics engineer degree in 2006 (Béjaïa, Algeria), a master of sciences in telecommunications in 2008 (Paris Sud 11, France) and a PhD degree in lasers, matters and nanosciences in 2011 (Bordeaux 1, France). His research focuses on metamaterials and their applications in microwave and THz regime.
