The role of Indian women has undergone drastic anddramatic changes from era to era. This took thousandsof years and tears of millions of women who with thecourage moved the mountains of debris of beliefs andfreed themselves from the chains and shackles ofcenturies. The change is the result of increasingglobalization, impact of media, technology, and othercultures, unforeseen and unanticipated events acrossthe world and social, economic and cultural crosscurrents across the world. Women entrepreneurs havebecome a strong driving force in today s corporateworld. Not only are they able to equalize theirduties of both motherhood and entrepreneurship butthey also comprise of almost half of all businessesowned today. Though, there are many factorsresponsible for the slow growth of womenentrepreneurs in India, yet there are many successstories of women entrepreneurs which are source ofinspiration for the young and budding talent. In thisbook attempt has been made to highlight theachievements and the success stories of 55 womenentrepreneurs in India. Challenges and opportunitiesfor the women entrepreneurs have been discussed.
