Mrima hill is located in the Kenyan south cost, about 70 kilometres from Mombasa town. This research entailed analysis of soil samples collected from the area surrounding the hill for levels of natural radionuclides, Uranium, Thorium and Potassium. The radiation absorbe dose was further estimated from the activities obtained. laboratory based NaI(Tl) gamma ray spectrometer was used to measure spectral data. The results reveal that the levels of the radionuclides are above global averages and the estimated doses are also higher compared to those recorded by other researchers in other parts of the country.
