In the era of networked information, Internet has emerged as the most powerful tool for instant access to information. For research- purposes, it is crystal clear that research is impossible without the services of the Internet. It has become the biggest global digital information library, which provides the fastest access to the needed information. The main objective of this study was to know the Internet use behavior, attitude and problems of the college students. An attempt was made to know Internet trends among college-students, period of using Internet, reasons of using Internet, the most widely used search engines, and Internet based e-mail services, uses and abuses of Internet etc. As Internet is an inseparable part of today s educational system, the areas covered in the review of literature also include origin of Internet, significance of internet, internet techniques & technologies, internet in United Kingdom, U.S.A. and in Pakistan. The findings of this study will be helpful for institutions providing the Internet services.
