This book examines the development of manufacturing industries in the Gaza Strip for the period 1967-1994. The main theme of analysis is that lack of manufacturing development in Gaza is attributed to the policies of Israeli occupation and as well to the local Palestinians due to their lack of vital industrial experience in manufacturing, marketing and management. The book argues that Gaza s manufacturing sector suffered enormous structural distortion during Israeli occupation, which resulted in there being no significant development. The study revealed that the manufacturing industries failed to grow beyond their traditional structural parameters. The book shows that both external and internal factors contributed to the lack of manufacturing development in Gaza. At the external level, the major constraints are mainly attributed to Israeli occupation. At the internal level, the major constraints are mainly attributed to the local Palestinian industrialists and entrepreneurs. Based on the findings of this study, a set of strategies and recommendations were submitted in order to correct the chronic distortions and lack of development in Gaza s industrial sector.
