Informationen zum Autor Isabella Valancy Crawford (25 December 1846 - 12 February 1887) was an Irish-born Canadian writer and poet. She was one of the first Canadians to make a living as a freelance writer. She is known primarily as a poet, but during her lifetime she was equally well-known as a writer of prose fiction. She was a regular contributor to Frank Leslie's New York publications. In 1886 she became the first local writer to have a novel, A Little Bacchante , realized by The Globe of Toronto.
