Birth registration in developing countries, Tanzania in particular is still low with higher intensity in rural compared to urban areas. this book examines the factors leading to low birth registration in Chamwino district in the central part of Tanzania. The factors base on the theories of rights of a child as established by the United Nation's Convection (1989) where every child need to have birth certificate in which birth registration is a pre-requisit. Birth registration simplify the procedures of getting a passport, opening a bank account, obtaining credit, voting or voted as a political figure, joining primary school and higher education institutions as well as finding employment within or outside the country. Therefore, the book has both theoretical and imperical factors leading to low birth registration among developing countries as well as the way forward toward addressing the issue.
