This book is composed of 6 chapters. Chapter 1 provides general introduction about heavy metal pollution, existing technologies for treatment of heavy metal contaminated soil and phytoremediation. A significant portion of this chapter is also devoted for review of literature. Chapters 2-6 were written in the form of research articles that have been either published or submitted to scientific journals. In order to provide basic information about the experiments, chapters 2-6 are briefly introduced at the beginning of each respective section. Critical aspects about the methodology as well as about the relevance of the experiments to the overall objective of the work are also portrayed. Summary and future prospects of this work are detailed at the end of the book.
