Environmental education (EE) has become crucial especially in developing countries where environmental abuses are pronounced. Both natural and man-made environment are in critical condition as a result of increasing use. Action must be taken before reaching the point of no return. Creating awareness and a beter understanding of the human-environment relationship are the best solutions to solve the problems, especially in regard to the secondary school students. Yet, the EE program faces a lot of problems; some of these are common to both developed and developing nations while others are peculiar to one country.

Dr. Incekara is a faculty member at Fatih University, Department of Geography. He specialized in geography education including comparative geography education, GIS in education, and geography teaching programs.Mr. Khalil has earned his M.A. from Fatih University, Institute of Social Sciences in summer 2014.
