About the author

Former Australian cricketer Merv Hughes is one of the true characters of sport. He played Test cricket in a tumultuous period for the Australian team, weakened by a rebel tour and the retirements of stars of the game. After becoming the third Australian to take 200 Test wickets and make more than 1000 Test runs, Merv became a bowling coach for under age, state and T20 teams, and served as a national selector for five years.
