Low back pain is a major health and socioeconomic problem in the world frequently associated with disability. There are recent reports on the treatment of patients with LPB undergoing back surgery which recommended back training programs as an effective treatment for reduction of disability and improvement of physical function, The nurses play a vital role in preparatory teaching of patient with disc surgery, careful postoperative monitoring and preparation of the patient for discharge in order to attain the intended postoperative outcomes.

Dr. Lamia M.N.Ismail has obtained PhD degree in Medical-Surgical Nursing in 2011, since then she has worked as a lecturer. Teaching Medical- Surgical Nursing for post graduate and undergraduate; Basic principles of rehabilitation for undergraduate Medical-Surgical Nursing student and Introduction to research for 2nd year technical institute.
