About the author

Berta Hummel, 1909 Massing - 1946 Kloster Sießen, studierte an der Münchener Staatsschule für angewandte Kunst. 1931 trat sie als Schwester Maria Innocentia in das Franziskanerinnenkloster Sießen ein. Produktion der 'Hummelkinder' ab 1934/35 durch die Porzellanfabrik Goebel in Oeslau. Das Berta-Hummel-Museum im Hummelhaus eröffnete 1994 im Geburtshaus Berta Hummels und zeigt die große Sammlung von frühen Werken der Künstlerin.
