Material Stone - Constructions and Technologies for Contemporary Architecture

This publication examines the use of stone in contemporary architecture, drawing also on the work and experience of such great predecessors as Semper or Höger. In thematic chapters, it presents the state of the art. The emphasis is laid on the many different kinds of natural stone, which come from a wide range of countries.

Christoph Mäckler, geb. 1951 in Frankfurt am Main, Studium der Architektur in Darmstadt und Aachen, Arbeit bei O. M. Ungers und Gottfried Böhm, seit 1981 eigenes Büro in Frankfurt, 1991 - 1996 Vorstandsvorsitzender des Bundes Deutscher Architekten BDA, seit 1998 Professor an der Technischen Universität Dortmund und Gründer des dortigen Instituts für Stadtbaukunst 2008.
