Lucian Freud : l'atelier : l'exposition = the exhibition

Mon travail est purement autobiographique.
Il n'y est question que de moi et de ce qui m'est proche.
C'est une tentative de mise en mémoire. Je travaille à partir des gens qui m'intéressent, qui m'importent, à qui je pense, dans le décor des pièces que j'habite, que je connais.
J'invente mes tableaux à partir des gens, et je travaille plus librement quand ils sont là.

My work is purely autobiographical.
It is about myself and my surroundings.
It is an attempt at a record. I work from the people that interest me, and that I care about and think about, in rooms that I live in and know.
I use the people to invent my pictures with, and I can work more freely when they are there.
