Witty and dazzling study of the search, from the Dark Ages to the Renaissance, for the original and perfect language of the Garden Of Eden. Widely thought at the time to be the source of all modern languages, it was believed that if it could be found and restored to use, it would provide a universal and unambiguous language with which to express the essence of all possible things and concepts. "A wonderful piece of literature, a book to be read by all with pleasure" }TLS{.
