He has an MD from the University of London (1993) on work done on small fibre neuropathy in diabetes mellitus and has published over 25 papers. He has also written a book for the hospital based doctor on "Practical Diabetes" in 1999. He is a member of Diabetes UK, the European Association for the Study of Diabetes and the American Diabetes Association.
