Informationen zum Autor Peter V. Hobbs did his doctoral work at Imperial College London, before moving to the University of Washington in 1963, where he founded and directed the Cloud and Aerosol Research Group, and became a leading researcher in atmospheric physics, pioneering techniques of airborne cloud sampling. He received a number of awards for his work, including Fellow of the American Meteorological Society (1974), Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (1982), the American Meteorological Society's Jule G.Charney Award (1984), and Sackler Distinguished Lecturer in Planetary and Space Sciences, Tel Aviv University, 2000. He remained at Washington until his death in 2005.
