The present book analyzing the factors influencing the situation of women in poverty and applying the results of gender studies assumes that the hierarchical relationship between genders is a consequence of the specific operation and norm-system of the society. The reader finds answers to how females live their poverty, what gender-based differences and drawbacks they have to face, and how they assess their situation if compared to that of men's. The information is provided through their emotional ties, the gender-based systems of division of labor and separation of powers and the analysis of inequalities manifested in income, consumption and money management. Besides, the specific patterns of female consumption and the related subjective feelings of lack are depicted. In the closing part, the typical conflicts representative of families in poverty are illustrated with consideration for their types, quality and quantity as indicative features of the female life quality. In this context, domestic violence against women is also detailed. Finally, forms of addictions are described with their consequences on partnerships and privacy.
