Implementing open innovation involves identification of potential technology partners, selection of the best partners, and planning of technology partners. This book deals with three decision making problems (identification, selection, and planning of technology partners) in open innovation. The book is composed of three chapters each of which address each of the three problems. Firstly, systematic approach to identifying potential technology partners based on the patent analysis is proposed in chapter three. Then, approach to selecting technology partners using analytic network process (ANP) is suggested in chapter four. Finally, technology planning by technology roadmap (TRM) to solving or aiding the three problems is proposed in chapter five.

About the author

Jeonghwan Jeon received the Ph.D. degree in technology management from the Seoul National University in 2011. He has nine years of experience as a senior engineer at semiconductor division of Samsung Electronics, Korea. His research interests include open innovation, technology planning, and technology evaluation.
