La Vendetta



La Vendetta, histoire d'un amour contrarié et tragique, est un peu une version « corse » de Roméo et Juliette.
Cette nouvelle, publiée en 1830, présente la singularité d'être un des premiers écrits signé Balzac. Elle inaugure les « Sciences de la vie privée » de La Comédie humaine. Elle marque également l'intérêt que l'écrivain accorde aux liens familiaux et aux unions ratées. Le rôle de l'amour paternel, toujours présent dans son oeuvre, et qu'il exploite ici avec beaucoup de brio, sert de révélateur pour dévoiler les non-dits de la nature humaine.
