Karl-Heinz Wellmann, geboren 1954 in Frankfurt am Main, schloss sein Studium der Biologie und Germanistik mit der Promotion ab. Er arbeitete unter anderem für die Wissenschaftsredaktion der Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung und ist seit 1988 Wissenschaftsredakteur beim Hessischen Rundfunk. Wellmann lebt mit seiner Familie bei Frankfurt.
