Paul Reusch war ein wirtschaftlich erfolgreicher und politisch prominenter Unternehmer des 20. Jahrhunderts. Von 1909 bis 1942 führte er das in Oberhausen ansässige Großunternehmen "Gutehoffnungshütte" (GHH) als Vorstandsvorsitzender. Die von ihm eingeführte Produkt- und Profitstrategie beinhaltete den Aufbau eines vertikal integrierten Konzerns und basierte im Unterschied zu anderen Firmen vor allem auf Zukäufen fremder Unternehmen durch Eigenmittel. Christian Marx untersucht im Kontext der neueren Corporate-Governance-Forschung systematisch die internen und externen Kontroll- und Führungsmechanismen. Dabei macht er Netzwerkverbindungen und Informationsflüsse sichtbar, die eine über einen langen Zeitraum stabile Führung des Konzerns garantierten. Obwohl Reusch die GHH bereitwillig an der nationalsozialistischen Aufrüstung beteiligte, führten Konflikte innerhalb des Konzerns sowie mit verschiedenen Parteistellen der NSDAP schließlich zu seinem erzwungenen Rücktritt während des Zweiten Weltkriegs.

About the author
Milton Lodge is a Distinguished University Professor of Political Science at Stony Brook University. He is the author of three books and numerous research articles in political science and psychology, a Fulbright Research Scholar (Nepal), a Research Scholar at the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.Charles S. Taber is a Professor of Political Science and Dean of the Graduate School at Stony Brook University. He has written several books and many articles on political psychology and computational modeling in the social sciences. He is the winner of nine research grants from the National Science Foundation. Professor Taber is a past editor of the journal Political Psychology and serves on several editorial boards in political science.
