North Olmsted's images illustrate the urbanization resulting from the
economic boom following World War II. In contrast, Olmsted Falls and
Olmsted Township still have the atmosphere of a small town, resembling
its larger neighbor before the war.

About the author

Dale Thomas is the author of Images of America: North Olmsted, and here he examines the evolution of the area. A retired history teacher, he is a graduate of Kent State University and Case Western Reserve University. In addition to being the archivist for the Olmsted Historical Society, Thomas serves on the North Olmsted Landmarks Commission.
