Additional text

"The fourth edition of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for the Specialty Board Review is a must-have for child and adolescent psychiatrists and general psychiatrists who are preparing for certification or recertification exams. This book is also a useful tool for medical students and residents preparing for examinations and is an excellent method of self-study for those who simply wish to ensure their knowledge is up to date. The questions and detailed explanations of the answers, which include references from leading textbooks, provide a comprehensive review of the entire field. The book has been updated to include DSM-5, as well as new knowledge in genetics, neurobiology, and psychopharmacology." -- Lois Flaherty, MD, Lecturer on Psychiatry, Harvard University and Editor-in-chief, Adolescent Psychiatry
"This book presents a practical and well-organized approach to preparing for the boards exam in child and adolescent psychiatry, with an emphasis on changes brought about in diagnostic classification by the publication of DSM-5 and relevant new knowledge from brain imaging and clinical neuroscience. Multiple-choice questions are organized by topic. Part I includes 16 chapters covering normal development, diagnostic categories, treatments and special issues. Part II includes five case problems that test knowledge of assessment, differential diagnosis, formulation and treatment planning. The cases are thoughtfully presented and are consistent with the new board’s format." -- --William M. McMahon, MD, Professor & Chairman, Department of Psychiatry, University of Utah School of Medicine
