Making the Link - An Inter-Disciplinary Approach to HIV/AIDS in the Curriculum

English · Paperback / Softback

Description

Nowhere has there been a wider and more divisive debate than the causation and arrest of HIV/AIDS prevalence in society. From the United Nations, views expressed by the Catholic Church, political and other world leaders, to the lowly layers of poverty stricken shanty towns of the worlds capita, the ever presence of HIV and AIDS has enveloped our world community. Making the Link enters the debate by asking some hard-hitting questions about the role and responsibilities of teachers in arresting the spread of HIV/AIDS and it suggests an inter-disciplinary approach to addressing HIV/AIDS awareness in the secondary curriculum. Making the Link addresses questions such as: What do teachers think about addressing HIV/AIDS through the curriculum? What is an inter-disciplinary approach to the teaching and learning about HIV/AIDS? What should be included in an inter-disciplinary approach to HIV/AIDS?
