The weather and climate over India shows large spatial inhomogeneity. Peninsular Indian region is a peculiar homogenous meteorological zone, which worth a study in detail due to its underlying terrain and maritime environment. This work is an attempt to analyze the spatial and temporal characteristics of the weather and climate of peninsular India having influenced on various time scales by factors such as solar forcing, northern Indian ocean SST and moisture, air temperature and zonal wind. This book employs empirical as well as numerical approaches to accomplish this objective. We hope that this book will help the one who work on scientific issues related to monsoon over India.
