This book contains the papers that were presented at the 2nd general meeting of the European Society of Regional Anaesthesia (E. S. R. A. ) which was held in Leiden on September 1st, 2nd and 3rd 1983. During the meeting a fruitful exchange of knowledge was initiated which I hope will lead to further inspiration and research.
