Summary

First published in 1888, this work reproduces Osborne's secret letters to Temple. The pair conducted an epistolary courtship in the mid-seventeenth century, despite the objections of both their families. The lawyer Edward Abbott Parry (1863–1943) was the first to publish the entire surviving correspondence, with valuable editorial commentary.
