Dual nationality has been a subject of intense discussion and debate in several countries of the world, but there is surprisingly little research covering the entire range of evidence and issues stemming from this reality. In line with the global trend of increased mobility of business and professional staff, many births take place involving parents from two different countries or on the soil of those countries that automatically give citizenship to anyone born there. Moreover, a large number of people have been seeking the nationality of another country due to several social, economic and political reasons. Dual nationality problems require a humane and rights-based solution, for uniting families and providing legal protection fairly to all those who are in need of it. Implementing legal reforms nationally and in the international arena to provide protection to all human beings in need of the nationality status without any kind of bias or prejudice is the single most important determinant of global security and sustainability.
