About the author










Burne Hogarth was accepted to the Art Institute of Chicago at age 12, and by age 15 he was already an assistant cartoonist at the Associate Editors' Syndicate. He took over the reins of Tarzan in 1937, and stayed with the strip for more than a decade. In 1950 he left the strip to co-found the Cartoonists and Illustrators School, today known as the world-famous School for Visual Arts. He is also famous for his books on anatomy and illustration, including Dynamic Anatomy and Dynamic Figure Drawing. Hogarth is in the Will Eisner Awards Hall of Fame.
