Tsunamis - ferociously dangerous sea waves - have caused widespread destruction to countries, populations and natural landscapes since antiquity. Richard Hamblyn is a lecturer in the Department of English and Humanities at Birkbeck, University of London. He is the author of numerous books on climate change, clouds, and natural disasters, most recently, "Killer Weather: Past, Present, Future."
