Informationen zum Autor Clement Clarke Moore, (1779-1863), was a professor at New York City's General Theological Seminary (built on land donated by his father) who, in an 1836 reprint of A Visit From St. Nicholas (more commonly known today as Twas the Night Before Christmas), was first credited as the author of the poem, and later included it in an anthology of his work. The work of New York Times bestselling children’s book illustrator Charles Santore has been widely exhibited in museums and celebrated with recognitions such as the prestigious Hamilton King Award, the Society of Illustrators Award of Excellence, and the Original Art 2000 Gold Medal from the Society of Illustrators. He is best known for his luminous interpretations of classic children’s stories, including The Little Mermaid, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Snow White, and The Wizard of Oz. Klappentext Featuring lavish illustrations by renowned illustrator Santore, Moore's classic holiday poem is now available in this mini edition. Full color. Leseprobe "Charles Santore's breathtaking [books] include the nostalgia-laden  The Night Before Christmas , a  Snow White  whose evil queen exhibits the kind of chilling sensuality we associate with Swinburne's poetry,  The Wizard of Oz  wonderfully reimagined, and a rumbustious  Aesop's Fables , as well as half dozen other children's favorites." -- Michael Dirda, The Washington Post Zusammenfassung The Night Before Christmas is an enchanting Christmas story that has brought Santa Claus to life for generations. Celebrate the holiday season with this #1 New York Times bestselling edition of the classic poem.
