About the author
Hannah Abbott (UCS) is Head of Department (ODP & Paramedic Science)at Birmingham City University. She is a registered Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) with extensive clinical experience in anaesthetic care and a particular interest in urgent and emergency interventions.
Helen Booth (CODP) is Chair of the Professional Council College of Operating Department Practitioners and is a registered Operating Department Practitioner who has worked in a wide area of the perioperative practice.
