Informationen zum Autor VLADIMIR NAUMOVICH GRIBOV received his PhD in theoretical physics in 1957 from the Physico-Technical Institute in Leningrad where he had worked since 1954. From 1962 to 1980 he was the head of the Theory Division of the Particle Physics Department of the institute! which in 1971 become the Leningrad Institute for Nuclear Physics. In 1980 he moved to Moscow where he became head of the particle physics section of the Landau Institute for Theoretical Physics. From 1981 he regularly visited the Research Institute for Particle and Nuclear Physics in Budapest where he was a scientific adviser until his death in 1997. Vladimir Gribov was one of the leading theoretical physicists of his time! who made seminal contributions to many fields! including quantum electrodynamics! neutrino physics! non-Abelian field theory! and! in particular! the physics of hadron interactions at high energies. Klappentext A English translation of wide-ranging lectures on high-energy elementary particle physics given by one of the twentieth century's leading physicists. Zusammenfassung This book derives from a course of lectures in high-energy elementary particle physics guiding graduate students from basic theory to the most challenging problems! simplified through models and analogies. The course exemplifies general methods of addressing problems in theoretical physics as taught by one of the outstanding theoretical physicists of the twentieth century. Inhaltsverzeichnis 1.
