About the author

Mike Williams is a retired U.S. Marine Corps colonel with over 30 years of active service. He flew attack helicopters in Vietnam as an Army warrant officer and subsequently as a U.S. Marine, served in Beirut during the United States's involvement there, and was stationed in Israel. Colonel Williams represented the U.S. government and the Marine Corps during a cooperative helicopter night attack system development program with the Israeli Air Force and Israel Aircraft Industry. During the 1991 Persian Gulf War, he shared the experience of being under SCUD missile attack with his Israeli counterparts.
