Grand Bordeaux et Gironde, architectures contemporaines permet
de lire dans l'agglomération bordelaise l'évolution architecturale
contemporaine sur plus d'un siècle, de 1900 à 2014. Son objet est
de souligner la puissance créatrice du XXe siècle. C'est un guide pour
l'amateur, un outil pour le chercheur. Chacun peut composer son
propre parcours en fonction de la chronologie, du programme, du
concepteur, du quartier, etc. Il rassemble 235 références réparties en
216 fiches illustrées et commentées. 62 d'entre elles sont traduites
en anglais, afin d'offrir un parcours pressé à l'étranger venu quelques
jours dans le Grand Bordeaux et en Gironde.
Greater Bordeaux and Gironde, contemporary architecture, charts the
evolution of contemporary architecture in the Bordeaux' area and in
Gironde from 1900 to 2014, with the aim of highlighting the great vigour
of the twentieth century. It is intended both as a guide for amateurs and
as tool for researchers, and allows each individual to plan his own route
based on one's interests spread over 216 entries. 62 of these entries
have been translated into English, in order to provide a shorter route
that can be enjoyed by foreign visitors spending a few days in Greater
Bordeaux and in Gironde.
