Summary

With a host of accessible, quality new settings, and with pieces based on all the major hymn tunes, these volumes are a must for every church organist's library.

Additional text

The 20 pieces cover widely-used tunes . . . Many will not be limited to strictly seasonal use. All are by contemporary composers, written in a variety of styles, ranging from quiet contemplative to rousing postludes. The idiom varies from slightly Baroque to unfrighteningly contemporary . . . As with the previous Advent and Christmas volume, these compositions have brought a fresh perspective to this important musical form. The book should form a basic part of every parish organistâs library.
